When I Wake Up Already Tired
Not every morning begins with energy. Sometimes we wake already carrying exhaustion from work, caregiving, grief, stress, or a season that has lasted longer than expected. This prayer is for those days when strength feels limited. It turns weariness into honest dependence on Christ rather than another reason for guilt or self-criticism.
Jesus, I am starting this day tired. My body may be awake, but part of me still feels worn down by yesterday, by responsibility, or by things I have been carrying for too long. I do not want to pretend I have more strength than I do. Meet me honestly in my weakness. Show me what must be done and what can wait. Keep me from measuring my worth by how much I accomplish today. Give me strength for the work that is mine, grace for the limits I cannot change, and courage to ask for help when I need it. Let me move through this day without resentment toward my own humanity. Teach me to receive Your yoke as something lighter than the pressure I place on myself.
Stay near to me today. Amen.
