About the Gospel Harmony

One life, four witnesses

Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John each tell the story of Jesus from their own vantage point. A “harmony” lines those accounts up so you can see the whole life of Christ in order — and see how the four witnesses overlap and complement one another. Some events, like the feeding of the five thousand, appear in all four Gospels; others, like the raising of Lazarus or the visit of the Magi, are told by just one.

Use the filters to show or hide any Gospel, to focus on the events all four record, or to find the moments unique to a single writer. Every reference links to that passage in our online Bible, so you can read and compare for yourself. This ordering follows the traditional structure of Gospel harmonies; because the writers arranged their material differently, the exact sequence of some events is a matter of study rather than certainty.
