A Prayer to Notice What God Is Doing
God's work is not found only in dramatic moments. Much of Christian faithfulness happens through ordinary beauty, quiet opportunities, unnoticed service, and small acts of love. This prayer is for those who want to move through the day with greater spiritual attention and become more aware of both God's gifts and the needs of people around them.
Creator and Father, keep me from moving so quickly through this day that I miss the quiet evidence of Your goodness. Open my eyes to the beauty I usually overlook: morning light, a familiar voice, useful work, a meal, a moment of laughter, an opportunity to help, a truth in Scripture that meets me at the right time. Make me attentive also to the places where You may be calling me to participate in Your work. Perhaps someone needs a patient answer, a practical act of help, an honest apology, a generous gift, or simply my full attention. Save me from treating interruptions as meaningless when they may become occasions for love. I know that not every moment will feel spiritually significant. Teach me nevertheless to live awake before You, trusting that ordinary faithfulness matters in Your kingdom.
