PRAYERS TO START THE DAY

When My Mind Is Already Racing

An anxious mind can begin working before our feet touch the floor. We may replay conversations, anticipate problems, or try to solve tomorrow before today has started. This prayer helps distinguish real responsibility from imagined fear and invites the peace of Christ into a mind that feels crowded, restless, or pulled in too many directions.

God, my thoughts are moving faster than this morning. I am already rehearsing conversations, imagining problems, and trying to solve things that have not happened yet. I give You what is real, what is uncertain, and what I have exaggerated in my own mind. Help me separate today's responsibility from tomorrow's fear. Teach me to pray before I spiral, to breathe before I react, and to seek truth before I assume the worst. Guard my heart and mind with the peace that comes from belonging to Christ. I may still have difficult things to handle today, but I do not have to handle them with panic. Give me a clear mind, a steady spirit, and enough grace for this hour.

Amen.
