A Prayer Before Leaving Home
Leaving home is such a familiar part of daily life that it can easily happen without reflection. Yet every road, workplace, classroom, store, and conversation becomes part of our Christian witness. This short prayer asks for protection, attentiveness, and grace so that even ordinary movement through the day can be lived with care and purpose.
Lord, as I step out into this day, go with me in every place I enter. Watch over my coming and going. Keep me alert, patient, and kind. Protect me from danger, but also protect me from becoming careless with other people. Let the way I drive, speak, work, wait, and respond show that I belong to You. Bring me home with a grateful heart, and let me leave some place better because I was there.
