A Prayer for Wisdom in Today's Decisions
Many important choices are made in ordinary moments. Scripture encourages believers to ask God for wisdom rather than relying only on instinct, pressure, or personal preference. This prayer is suited for mornings when decisions are ahead and we want our judgment to be shaped by truth, humility, patience, and a willingness to follow God's direction.
Lord God, giver of wisdom, I place before You the decisions that await me today, including the ones I do not yet know I will have to make. Deliver me from pride, impulsiveness, fear, and the desire to please everyone. Teach me to recognize what is true, what is loving, and what is right. Where I lack understanding, give me patience to ask questions. Where I have responsibility, give me courage to act. Where I am tempted to force an answer, teach me to wait. Keep me from confusing my preferences with Your will. Shape my judgment through Your Word, wise counsel, and a conscience made tender by Your Spirit. May the choices I make today reflect faithfulness rather than convenience and love rather than self-interest.
