A Prayer Before Starting the Workday
Beginning work with prayer can change the spirit in which we approach even familiar tasks. This prayer is for placing the day’s responsibilities before God and asking for focus, integrity, patience, and a willingness to serve through ordinary work rather than simply rushing into the next demand.
Heavenly Father, as I begin my work today, I place every task, conversation, decision, and responsibility before You. Give me a clear mind and a willing spirit. Keep me from laziness, distraction, dishonesty, and resentment. Help me do what is mine to do with care, even when no one notices. Let my work be useful to others and honorable before You. When I feel pressure, give me steadiness. When I make mistakes, give me humility to correct them. When things go well, keep me from pride. May the way I work today reflect faithfulness, patience, and love.
