A Prayer When Work Feels Meaningless
Not every job feels like a calling. Some work is repetitive, temporary, exhausting, or simply necessary for paying the bills. This prayer is for finding dignity and purpose even when the work itself does not feel inspiring, impressive, or connected to a larger dream.
Father, some days I struggle to see meaning in what I do. The tasks feel repetitive, the results seem small, and I wonder whether any of it matters. Help me remember that useful work does not have to be impressive to have dignity. Show me where my effort serves another person, supports my household, teaches endurance, or creates order where there would otherwise be none. If this season is temporary, help me be faithful while I am here. If You are calling me toward something different, give me patience and direction. Do not let boredom make me careless or dissatisfaction make me ungrateful.
