A Prayer for Simplicity During Lent
Lent can create space to examine excess, distraction, and consumption. This prayer asks for a simpler life that makes more room for God and neighbor.
Lord, show me what has become unnecessarily loud in my life. Help me loosen my grip on habits, purchases, media, or comforts that keep me distracted. I do not want simplicity to become another achievement. I want it to make room for attention, generosity, prayer, and rest. Teach me to recognize what is enough and to use what I have with greater wisdom.
Amen.
