A Prayer of Thanks After a Difficult Season
Gratitude after hardship is not the same as pretending suffering was easy. Sometimes thanksgiving comes from looking back and recognizing that God sustained us through a season we once thought we could not endure. This prayer makes room for both the pain and the faithfulness remembered afterward.
God, I look back on a season that was harder than I wanted and longer than I expected. I would not call every part of it good, but I can see that You did not leave me. Thank You for strength that appeared when mine was gone, for people who helped me, for lessons I could not have learned quickly, and for moments of mercy hidden inside difficult days. Some wounds may still be healing, but I am grateful that pain did not have the final word. Help me remember Your faithfulness without romanticizing suffering. Let what I have survived make me more compassionate, more humble, and more ready to trust You today.
Amen.
