An Advent Prayer for Joy
Christian joy is deeper than holiday cheer. This prayer asks for a joy rooted in the good news of Jesus, even when the season contains stress, disappointment, or grief.
Father, give me a joy that is stronger than circumstances. Let the good news of Jesus reach deeper than decorations, traditions, or expectations. When I feel disappointed or weary, remind me that joy does not require pretending. Let it grow from the truth that Christ has come near. Make me someone who carries encouragement, kindness, and hope into the lives of others this season.
Amen.
