A Prayer for Discernment About Teachers and Resources
Bible study often includes books, podcasts, commentaries, videos, and teachers. This prayer asks for discernment without suspicion toward everyone or blind trust in authority.
Lord, give me discernment about the voices I learn from. Keep me from accepting claims simply because someone is confident, popular, or persuasive. Help me compare teaching carefully with Scripture, recognize good scholarship, and notice when a teacher twists a text to serve an agenda. Keep me teachable without being gullible and discerning without becoming cynical.
Amen.
