A Prayer to Love Scripture Without Worshiping Knowledge
It is possible to know many biblical facts while remaining unchanged. This prayer asks for a love of Scripture that leads to deeper love for God and neighbor.
Lord, give me a deep love for Scripture without letting knowledge become an idol. Keep me from using the Bible to feel superior, win arguments, or avoid the harder work of obedience. Let study lead me toward greater love for You and more faithful love for my neighbor. Make me careful with truth, generous with people, and willing to be corrected. May what I learn become wisdom, and may wisdom become a life that looks more like Christ.
Amen.
