THANKSGIVING PRAYERS

A Thanksgiving Prayer When the Year Has Been Hard

Gratitude can feel complicated after a difficult year. This prayer does not deny pain; it asks God to help us notice mercy without forcing cheerful feelings.

God, this year has not been easy. There are losses, disappointments, and unanswered questions I still carry. On Thanksgiving, I do not want to pretend everything is fine. Help me notice the grace that remained present even in difficulty: people who stayed, strength for one more day, moments of kindness, and Your presence when I felt weak. Let gratitude and grief exist together without one silencing the other.

Amen.

Scripture: Habakkuk 3:17-18 Psalm 34:18
