A Prayer for Good Friday
Good Friday brings Christians to the cross. This prayer reflects on Jesus' suffering, forgiveness, and self-giving love without treating the crucifixion as a distant religious symbol.
Jesus, on this Good Friday I remember the cross. You entered human suffering, endured violence and rejection, and gave Yourself in love. Forgive me when I treat the cross as familiar background instead of the center of grace. Let Your sacrifice confront my sin without driving me into hopelessness. Teach me to forgive because I have been forgiven and to reject the patterns of cruelty, pride, and indifference that the cross exposes.
Amen.
