A Prayer for Peace When the World Feels Unstable
News of war, violence, political tension, disaster, and suffering can leave people feeling powerless and afraid. This prayer asks for compassion without constant panic and for wisdom about how to respond faithfully.
God of mercy, the world feels unstable and full of pain. I hear about war, violence, disaster, and fear, and I do not know what to do with all of it. Keep me from becoming numb, but also keep me from carrying the weight of the whole world as though it depends on me. Show me where I can pray, give, speak, serve, or help. Protect my mind from endless fear. Comfort those who are suffering directly, guide leaders toward justice and restraint, and make me a person who contributes to peace in the places I can actually reach.
