A Prayer for Guidance Through Scripture
Christians seek guidance through Scripture, but individual verses should not be pulled out of context as private fortune-telling. This prayer asks for understanding, humility, and faithful application.
God, guide me through Your Word. Help me read carefully and honestly, not searching only for verses that confirm what I already want. Teach me to understand Scripture in context and to receive both its comfort and correction. Give me wisdom to apply what is clear and humility where faithful Christians may disagree. Let Your Word shape my character, not become a tool for avoiding responsibility.
Amen.
