Grateful Before I Ask for Anything
Prayer often begins with requests because our needs are real. Yet there is spiritual value in pausing before asking and simply remembering who God is and what He has already done. This prayer creates that pause at the start of the day.
Father, before I ask You for anything today, I want to thank You. Thank You for Your faithfulness, for Your patience with me, for the grace I have received in Christ, and for every time You carried me when I did not know how I would keep going. My needs are still real, but they are not the whole story. Your goodness is part of my story too. Let thanksgiving come before anxiety and worship before worry.
Amen.
