A Prayer When Treatment Is Not Working as Hoped
It can be deeply discouraging when treatment does not bring the hoped-for improvement. This prayer asks for wisdom about next steps, emotional strength, and freedom from false guilt.
Lord, we are disappointed. We hoped this treatment would help more than it has, and now we are facing more questions. Give the medical team wisdom about what should change and what options remain. Protect my loved one from feeling responsible for a body that is not responding as hoped. Help us ask hard questions without losing compassion for one another. If a new treatment is possible, guide us. If the focus of care needs to change, give us courage and clarity. Keep us close to truth and to one another.
