A Prayer When My Loved One Is Afraid
Illness can create fear about pain, treatment, disability, or death. This prayer asks for calm and courage without minimizing the seriousness of those fears.
Jesus, my loved one is afraid, and I do not want to answer that fear with empty reassurance. Be near in the questions and uncertainty. Give courage for the next appointment, the next decision, and the next day. Help us speak honestly about what is frightening without letting fear dominate every conversation. Surround my loved one with people who bring truth, steadiness, and care.
Amen.
