A Prayer of Gratitude for Jesus
At the center of Christian thanksgiving is not simply gratitude for circumstances, but gratitude for Jesus Christ: His life, cross, resurrection, mercy, and invitation to belong to God. This prayer focuses thanksgiving directly on the heart of the gospel.
Lord Jesus, thank You for coming near to us. Thank You for Your life, Your teaching, Your compassion, Your cross, and Your resurrection. Thank You that forgiveness is not something I earn and that grace is not reserved for people who have everything together. Thank You for calling me to follow You and for opening the way to the Father. Keep the gospel from becoming familiar background noise. Renew my gratitude for who You are and what You have done.
Amen.
