A Prayer of Thanksgiving for Today
Gratitude does not require an extraordinary day. Ordinary life is filled with gifts that can easily disappear into routine: breath, shelter, food, friendship, work, rest, and the mercy of another morning. This prayer helps begin with what is already present and receive the day as a gift from God.
Heavenly Father, thank You for this day. Thank You for life, breath, food, shelter, people who care for me, and opportunities I often take for granted. Open my eyes to the goodness already around me. Keep gratitude from becoming a vague feeling; teach me to name Your gifts and respond with generosity. Whatever today brings, help me remember that Your mercy is present and that I have reasons to give thanks.
