A Prayer to Love Country Without Making It an Idol
Love of country can become unhealthy when national identity is confused with the kingdom of God. This prayer asks for gratitude, honesty, and ultimate loyalty to Christ.
Lord Jesus, teach me to love my country without worshiping it. Let me be grateful for what is good, honest about what is wrong, and willing to work for change. Keep me from treating national success as proof of righteousness or criticism as betrayal. My deepest allegiance belongs to You. Let that loyalty make me a more truthful, compassionate, courageous, and responsible neighbor within the nation where I live.
