A Prayer for Truth in Public Life
Democracy and public trust weaken when lies become normal. This prayer asks for honesty from leaders, media, institutions, and citizens alike.
God of truth, expose falsehood in our public life. Give journalists courage to report carefully, officials honesty in what they say, and citizens patience to verify before sharing. Keep us from believing claims only because they flatter our politics. Protect people from propaganda, manipulation, and deliberate deception. Make us willing to correct ourselves when we discover we were wrong. Let truth matter more than winning.
Amen.
