A Prayer When Grief Comes in Waves
Grief often returns unexpectedly through a song, place, date, smell, or ordinary moment. This prayer is for the sudden waves of sadness that can arrive long after the initial loss.
Lord, grief has found me again today. I was not expecting it, and suddenly the loss feels fresh. Help me not to judge myself for still hurting. Let me receive this wave without believing it will last forever. Be with me in the memory that opened this pain. Give me space to feel what I feel and strength to continue when the moment passes. Teach me that healing does not mean never grieving again.
