A Prayer Remembering Those Without Enough Food
Giving thanks for a meal should not make us forget those facing hunger. This prayer joins gratitude with compassion and asks for a response that goes beyond words.
God of mercy, thank You for the food before us. As we receive it, keep us mindful of people who do not know where their next meal will come from. Forgive us when gratitude stays private and never becomes generosity. Show us practical ways to share, give, support food programs, welcome neighbors, and respond to need. Bless those working to reduce hunger and injustice. Let this meal make us more compassionate, not merely more comfortable.
Amen.
