A Prayer for Rest From Constant Productivity
Modern life often treats rest as something that must be earned. This prayer challenges the pressure to stay productive at all times and asks for a healthier, faith-centered rhythm.
God, I am tired of feeling guilty whenever I stop. I have learned to measure my days by how much I finish, how quickly I respond, and how useful I appear. Remind me that I am not a machine and that rest is not a moral failure. Help me work faithfully when it is time to work and stop when it is time to stop. Keep productivity from becoming my identity. Teach me to receive rest as part of Your wisdom for human life.
Amen.
