A Prayer for Protection Through the Night
Night can make fears feel larger, especially when we are alone, traveling, caring for family, or carrying concern about safety. This prayer places the home and the people we love under God's care.
Lord God, watch over this home and everyone I love through the night. Protect us in our sleeping and waking, in our going and staying. Guard us from danger, accidents, violence, and harm. Give wisdom to those working through the night and protection to those traveling. Where fear has taken hold of my imagination, replace it with trust. I know that prayer is not a guarantee that life will never be difficult, but I also know that I am never outside Your care. Let me rest beneath that truth.
