An Opening Prayer for the Holy Spirit's Guidance
Christian worship depends on more than planning and presentation. This prayer asks the Holy Spirit to guide the church into truth, conviction, comfort, and Christlike response.
Holy Spirit, guide this gathering. Bring truth to mind, expose what needs repentance, comfort those who are burdened, and strengthen what is weak. Keep us from manipulating emotion or mistaking excitement for transformation. Lead us toward Jesus and make us responsive to Your correction. Produce in us the fruit that lasts beyond this service.
Amen.
