About the Word of the Day

A little Scripture, every single day

The Word of the Day is a simple, free word game with a gentle purpose: to bring a piece of Scripture into your day. Every day there is one new five-letter word drawn from the Bible — a name, a place, or a word rich with meaning like grace, faith, or mercy. Everyone playing that day is trying to guess the same word, so you can compare with friends and family.

When you finish, we don't just tell you the word — we show you where it lives in the Bible, with a verse and a link to read the whole passage in our online Bible. In that small way, a two-minute game becomes a doorway into God's Word.

How to play

  • Type any five-letter word and press Enter to make a guess.
  • A green tile means the letter is correct and in the right spot.
  • A gold tile means the letter is in the word, but in a different spot.
  • A gray tile means the letter is not in the word at all.
  • You have six guesses. Stuck? Tap Need a hint? for a clue.

Can my kids play?
